An exciting weekend ahead for Rod Salmon and me with the final round of the 2014 Australian GT Championships in the Skwirk Audi R8 LMS GT3, immediately followed by the 101-lap Highlands 101 race in the brand new Skwirk / Beechwood Audi R8-LMS Ultra at the Highlands Motorsport Park in New Zealand. November 8 – 9 – two cars, two races, one great weekend.

Going into the last round leading the Australian GT Championships by 32 points is going to test our whole operation this weekend. Melbourne Performance Centre (MPC) have done a fantastic job preparing the Audi all year and I have no doubt they will do so again for both cars at Highlands. The rest is up to me and Rod.
We are both feeling good about our prospects of winning the championship, knowing full well that the competition is going to be at a very high level. The Highlands circuit is new to me, so I will have to be quick at learning the circuit. After walking around on Thursday and spending time with the MPC engineers on car set up and strategy I feel that we are looking good for an outright win. For sure we are going to give it our best shot.
The Highlands circuit is great, I love it! It’s a classic racers’ circuit with very little or no forgiveness for the slightest of errors which is very exciting for me. Rod is also in good shape and ready to do battle.
Thanks to everyone for all the support you have given us during the year. Wish us luck this weekend and look out for the latest updates on my Facebook page.
